Crime victims’ resource fair and community walk

Speakers and self-defense demonstrations headline the resource fair, where the Minneapolis Police Department and other organizations will answer questions about victims’ rights and crime prevention. A community walk through the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood will follow at 6 p.m. 612-876-9319

Cinco de Mayo outdoor family festival
Sunday, May 3, noon–9 p.m.
E. Lake St. and 27th Ave.
This daylong street fair, sponsored by El Nuevo Rodeo restaurant and La Mera Buena FM radio, will feature a low rider car show, eight musical acts from the U.S. and Mexico, vendors, concessions, inflatables and face painting for kids. El Nuevo Rodeo will host a buffet and entertainment indoors, as well. Free and open to the public.

A wide variety of annuals, perennials, and beautiful hanging baskets grown by Glacial Ridge Growers (“Restoring the prairie, one backyard at a time”) will be on sale. Money raised is used to support with supplies and field trips for students and teachers.
