Through this community discussion, presented by the Leagu of Women Voters Minneapolis, Hennepin County Library, and the Library Foundation of Hennepin County, you will discover how Minnesota could be affected by an undercount in the next census, and learn what you can do to help.

South Minneapolis Housing Fair

The South Minneapolis Housing Fair is free and open to the public. The Housing Fair promotes home improvement, project financing, city living, and local neighborhood involvement. Attendees have the opportunity to meet over 100 reputable contractors, real estate agents, lenders, community organizations, and neighborhood representatives. Attendees can also attend free seminars from local professionals on home improvement, safety, home purchase, decorating, and financing.

Women of Mill City

Learn about the women who helped settle and shape the Midwest through the Mill City Museum History Players’ portrayals of four women. Visitors can also go on a museum scavenger hunt to learn more about women’s roles in local history. Free with $5–$10 museum admission.

Immigration and Food Justice

West Side Story

Marcy Open School
The show is directed by Jay Scoggin, a former Marcy teacher who now works with the Youth Performance Company in Prospect Park. Scoggin is dedicating the production to the memory of former Marcy student Joseph Sodd III, who was killed last summer in Cedar-Riverside. The last time Marcy produced West Side Story, Sodd played the part of Riff. For tickets, call Sidney Orchard at 668-1023. Shows will sell out, so don’t delay!
