Redesign of Franklin/River Road intersection kicks off
On Feb. 19, Hennepin County officials and consultants will present the proposed redesign of the infamous intersection at Franklin Avenue and East River Parkway, at the east end of the Franklin Avenue bridge. The meeting will take place at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, 1500 Franklin Ave. SE, 6:30–8:30 p.m.
The county, city, Park Board (all of which share jurisdiction over various parts of the auto, bus, bike and pedestrian crossroads) will be represented, as will the University of Minnesota.
The kick-off meeting will present the scope of the study, outline a preliminary compilation of technical issues and seek input on the issues and concerns that residents, businesses, and other intersection users may have.
