Voter information; ballot referenda; School Board candidates move on to general election; editorial

On Nov. 4, Minneapolis voters will join the state and nation in electing candidates to local, state and national offices, and they will weigh in on three ballot referenda: two of them regarding the Minneapolis School Board and a statewide constitutional amendment to dedicate funds from a three-eights-of-1-percent sales tax increase towards natural resources, arts and cultural heritage.

Most U.S. citizens who are 18 years of age or older and have lived in Minneapolis for at least 20 days may register to vote on the day of the election. Visit www.ci.mpls.mn.us/elections for voter information and links to county and state elections websites.

The League of Women Voters Minneapolis website offers a host of voter information, including a complete listing, by address, of the candidates and referenda on the ballot, as well as a schedule of candidate and issues forums ahead of the Nov. 4 election. Visit www.lwvmpls.org and click on “voting and election information.”

The links below will direct you to our October elections coverage, including the three ballot questions voters will consider. One general note for all three: voters who leave the ballot question blank will be counted as a “No” vote.
